YouTube matched audio content to one of my videos and is asking to acknowledge the match. I tried disputing it but they rejected me. They haven't taken the video down or muted it or anything, so should I acknowledge the content match or appeal it?

Probably about the same. It takes time for the restored video to propagate through YouTube's system. Sometimes it may take longer. That is more a technical thing than a legal thing. YouTube is just such a big site, when a video is restored it just takes a day or two for the site to register that it's back.

Michael - One of my tutorial videos has an example counter-notice. If you must do it by email, it's essentially the same thing. I don't have any other examples handy. If you just include all the things YouTube says you have to include in a free form counter-notice, it should work. As I've said before, writing it in proper English with punctuation would make it much more likely to succeed. Since you still seem incapable of using so much as a period or writing complete sentences, I'm afraid I can't help you.

I do not think just changing a video to black and white is enough of a chance to qualify as transformative. It might be okay to post short clips of a movie that way, but posting an entire copyrighted movie just with the colors changed I do not think would be fair use.

Hi Patrick: Just curious... Would you consider a music clip (video) that was taken from an acknowledged "copyrighted" tv variety show ( Ed Sullivan) fair use if the clip was EDITED to all black and white from its original color format? Over the years I have had my run ins with SOFA ( Ed Sullivan show dvd distributors) and they are a "zealous" bunch indeed. What is your opinion? Thanks for your GREAT work Howard
